The Oklahoma Alliance for Animals supports the amazing and dedicated work of rescues and shelters throughout Oklahoma – including their ongoing efforts to find loving, indoor homes for animals. Please check out our list of adoption events in your area.
The Adopt-A-Little Okie adoption event happens the last Saturday of each month at Tulsa Animal Welfare and the Broken Arrow Animal Shelter.
Please adopt animals from shelters and rescues. Never buy from a breeder – that only perpetuates the sad and expensive problem of creating homeless puppies and kittens. Be responsible and kind. Thanks!
Oklahoma has a severe pet overpopulation crisis that costs state taxpayers literally millions of dollars every year in shelter euthanasia costs. Irresponsible pet owners and backyard breeders inundate the state with unwanted puppies and kittens – all because they didn’t spay and neuter their pets.
Rescues work very hard to find homes for these animals (including their moms!) but can never keep pace with numbers ranging in the tens of thousands every year.
Please be responsible and spay/neuter your pets. Prevention is much kinder than destruction. Plus altering pets can help keep them safe. They’re less likely to try to roam, less likely to become lost, and more.
