Rock & Rescue 2024 – Rescue/Nonprofit/Shelter Registration

Rock & Rescue returns in 2024! We’re so excited for the resurgence of this rockin’ adoption event featuring animal rescues and pet-related vendors from all across Oklahoma.

The event will take place on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Central Park Hall, Expo Square. The event is indoors.

Participation in the event is totally free for nonprofits, rescues and shelters! Rescues will need to provide their own table, chairs, crates and other supplies.

We are limiting the number of participating rescues to 25 due to space. Rescues will be limited to bringing 5-7 animals.

Read the Group Adoption Event Standards and complete the below Rock & Rescue registration form. Please submit by Saturday, April 6. Questions? Email jamee@animalallianceok.org.

THIS FORM IS FOR RESCUES, SHELTERS, AND NONPROFITS ONLY.

Group Adoption Event Standards

To make adoption events as successful as possible and to minimize liability exposure for each organization who participates in adoption events, the following Group Adoption Event Standards have been developed. In order to participate, each organization must agree to adhere to the following standards.

  1. You certify your organization is a registered 501(c)(3) organization or municipal shelter, primarily concerned with animal welfare and does not engage in breeding animals.
  2. Because events such as Rock & Rescue are organized to help curb the pet overpopulation problem in Oklahoma, we ask that all dogs or cats offered for adoption be rescued from Oklahoma, preferably from the Green Country area.
  3. The organization must comply with the following animal care requirements:
    • All dogs and cats must be spayed or neutered (unless determined by a veterinarian to be medically contraindicated).
    • All cats must be given a rabies vaccine and FVRCP vaccine, and be screened for FeLV/FIV.
    • All dogs must be given a rabies vaccine and DHLLP (or equivalent) vaccine, and be screened for heartworms.
    • All animals must be fed, housed, and exercised appropriately for their species.
    • The health and well-being of the animals is of utmost importance. No sick or injured animals should be present at an adoption event. Animals must be sufficiently healthy to withstand several hours at such an event.
  4. The organization must immediately remove any animal that presents aggressive or uncontrollable behavior.
  5. The organization must bring the appropriate number of staff or volunteers.  As a guide, there should be at least two people to staff your information table and one volunteer per leashed dog.
  6. Bring all needed equipment and items to the adoption event, including a banner, tables and chairs, crates and carriers, water bowls, water, food, treats, leashes, etc., unless specifically told that these items will be made available at the site.
  7. Volunteers and staff must be easily identifiable, e.g. wear shirts with their individual group’s name and logo, name tags, etc.
  8. Arrive on time and in plenty of time to set up prior to the beginning of the event and stay until the end of the event.
  9. Clean up after the animals and ensure your booth area is free of trash and pet waste prior to leaving the event.
  10. Any injury to rescue animals or volunteers or to members of the public or their animals, must be reported to OAA representative immediately.
  11. The organization must comply with any on-site directions or requests made by OAA or any Tulsa Expo representatives, which could include being asked to remove animals or leave entirely if deemed necessary.

Your cooperation in complying with these standards is essential in promoting the spirit of collaboration needed to create communities where healthy, adoptable animals are no longer euthanized simply because they don’t have homes.

*Please note that OAA reserves the final approval of your rescue registration. Submission of this form does not indicate immediate acceptance. You will be notified via email within 48 business hours if your rescue is approved to attend.

*Please also note that the public’s personal pets are NOT allowed at Rock & Rescue due to the location of the event. We ask for your help making this clear in your pre-event promotions.

Submit the below form to register. Note that the confirmation screen notification is at the bottom of the page, so it may look like it didn’t go through, but it did! You will receive an email within 48 business hours of submission.

We have closed online registration. If you’re interested in attending, please email jamee@animalallianceok.org.
