Oklahoma has a severe pet overpopulation crisis that costs state taxpayers literally millions of dollars every year in shelter euthanasia costs. Irresponsible pet owners and backyard breeders inundate the state with unwanted puppies and kittens – all because they didn’t spay and neuter their pets.
Rescues work very hard to find homes for these animals (including their moms!) but can never keep pace with numbers ranging in the tens of thousands every year.
Please be responsible and spay/neuter your pets. Prevention is much kinder than destruction. Plus altering pets can help keep them safe. They’re less likely to try to roam, less likely to become lost, and more.
