  • A thorough review of Oklahoma animal neglect and cruelty statutes
  • Identifying and addressing the most common animal cruelty complaints in Oklahoma, neglect, hoarding and animal fighting.
  • A walk-through of the use of terms and conditions in certain dog, horse and cat cases.
  • Mental illnesses (2 hours) resulting in animal hoarding, animal torture and the link between animal cruelty and domestic violence and serial sexual predation and sexual homicide. The class covers mental health diagnoses relevant to the DA in addressing these cases.
  • Evidence collection, including the use of PPE, in animal cruelty cases.
  • Compiling information for the DA’s office and engaging a veterinarian as an expert witness.
